How to Do Email Routing in Plesk?

If you’re running email hosting, you need to take precautions to keep the e-mail service active. If the primary server goes down, you’ll keep receiving mail on a backup server with email routing in Plesk.

Below are the steps to Set Email Routing :

1. As root Log in to your Plesk account.

2. From the Websites & Domains section, choose your domain and click on the Mail Settings option.

You will see the Mail Settings panel open, where for your domain you can change the mail service settings.

3. Untick/disable the Activate mail service on this domain choice and scroll all the way down to the end to click OK.

Note: If you’re using local mail server then “Activate mail service on this domain” are enabled. If you’re using external mail server then “Activate mail service on this domain” are disabled.

The settings can take a short while to require result for the e-mail routing of your Plesk account.
