How do you set up the DNS Resolver in WHM

In this article, we are going to explain how to use WHM to configure the DNS Resolver.

For the server name, a DNS Resolver may be a server component that searches the local cache . If it can’t discover the name in there, it’ll keep searching out by contacting DNS servers till it finds the IP you’re looking for. In each domain name resolving process, it plays the most vital role.

When configuring the server, the user should specify the resolver’s IP address. This could be done through the WHM interface, wherever the IP address of the resolver is specified in the /etc/resolv.conf file.

Below are the steps shown to use WHM to configure the DNS Resolver:

1. Using your root account details, log in to the “WHM panel”

2. Select “Networking Setup” present on the navigation menu.

3. Choose “Resolver Configuration” from the menu.

4. Click on “Proceed button” to keep on continue.

5. After entering the addresses of two nameservers, Click the Continue button to use as “primary and secondary resolvers”

Note: You’ll add a 3rd nameserver by getting into its IP address within the Tertiary Resolver section, that is optional . it’ll server’s as your server’s third resolver.

The system can begin the configuration method and established the first and secondary resolvers within the correct order.
