How to change the WordPress Website Domain

The below steps can help you to vary your WordPress web site domain. during this example, we are going to change these to reflect a move from blog.yourdomain.com to just yourdomain.com. However, this will be accomplished between any domain or sub-domain you’ve got hosted.

Note: The steps outlined here won’t assist you to move website site files for you! you’ll got to try this manually by using your FTP details. These directions can only assist you to update WordPress to reflect the correct domain name once you’ve moved your files. It’s better to take a backup of your file before making any changes via FTP.

• Now Login to your WordPress site as an administrator.
• Click on Setting from left side menu and select General.
• Please change the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) to yourdomain.com.
• Enter the URL. For this example, we’ll change the two fields to http://yourdomain.com from http://blog.yourdomain.com
• Click on the Save button.
• Please check that your target domain yourdomain.com does not exist as a folder in the domain’s directory. If it does, you can use the File Manager tool or FTP to rename it.
