What is Hotlink Protection?
Hotlink protection prevents different web sites from directly linking to files (as such that below) on your web site. Different sites can still be able to link to any file type that you simply don’t specify below (i.e., HTML files). An example of hotlinking would be using an <img> tag to show a picture from your website away on the Web. the end result’s that the opposite website is stealing your bandwidth. 1. To enable it, login to your cPanel with root account.

The options that are present includes “URLs to allow access:” & “Block direct access for the following extensions (comma-separated):“.
5. Finally click on Submit button and your are done.
Enable Hotlink Protection from Plesk:
Login to your plesk panel & search for option Hotlink Protection. To enable it click on the button Switch On . You’ll add the extensions within the window that says “Protected File Extensions” & add whitelist/allow them within the windows that says “Friendly domains“. Click on Ok & you’re done.
