Can I password protect certain pages of my website?

Q. How can I restrict access to certain pages of my website?

Ans. Usually, you would like as many of us as possible to browse your pages. There are however some exceptions where you would only a select group of individuals to be able to access certain pages of your web site. HTTP user authentication was designed for this purpose.

With User Authentication will specify that only certain individuals can access your pages, based on :

  • Username/password-level access authorization.
  • Based on Internet address of client Rejection or acceptance of connections.
  • A combination of the above two methods.

Web Pages can even be password protected wherever a user should provide a username and password to gain access to certain areas. You protect password from numerous folders on your web site to limit access to such web pages. A protected folder would prohibit access to any or all of the web pages contained among that folder. This ensures complete data security from anonymous users.
