Network Level Authentication (NLA) is enabled by default — connections must authenticate before the Windows desktop loads, blocking unauthenticated access attempts. The Windows firewall is configured to allow RDP only on the correct port. Fail2ban-equivalent Windows tools block repeated failed login attempts.
