{"id":3456,"date":"2021-10-30T09:56:08","date_gmt":"2021-10-30T09:56:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ownwebservers.com\/kb\/?p=3456"},"modified":"2021-10-30T09:56:08","modified_gmt":"2021-10-30T09:56:08","slug":"how-to-add-a-new-server-in-whmcs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ownwebservers.com\/kb\/how-to-add-a-new-server-in-whmcs\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Add a New Server in WHMCS?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Using the admin panel you can add servers in WHMCS . it&#8217;ll facilitate to add the new accounts and track in WHMCS.<br \/>\nTe steps to add a new server in WHMCS are given as below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Login to the\u00a0<strong>WHMCS<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0<strong>admin<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to setup, navigate to\u00a0<strong>Products OR Services<\/strong>, and click on\u00a0<strong>Servers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From this dashboard, you can either add a new server or create groups.<\/li>\n<li>If you are adding the server for the first time then you won\u2019t see any groups or servers.<\/li>\n<li>You can create groups to bunch multiple servers together for the identification of servers. For e.g. you can create a group of shared servers, VPS servers, reseller servers, etc. You can do this later once servers are added.<\/li>\n<li>To add a new server click on\u00a0<strong>Add New Server<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>For the advanced features click on this<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Name<\/strong>\u00a0field, enter the name of your server.<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Hostname<\/strong>\u00a0section, enter the\u00a0<strong>Hostname<\/strong>. In my case, <strong>ownwebservers.com\u00a0<\/strong>is my hostname. It should be a fully qualified domain name.<\/li>\n<li>In the IP address section, insert the primary address of your server.<\/li>\n<li>If there are multiple IP addresses on your server and you want WHMCS to be assigned across them, you can enter them in Assign IP Addresses section.<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Monthly Cost<\/strong>\u00a0field, you can monitor the cost of server which helps in generating WHMCS reports. Enter the cost of that server.<\/li>\n<li>You can mention the Datacenter location in\u00a0<strong>Datacenter<\/strong>\u00a0OR\u00a0<strong>Network Operations Center (NOC)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the \u201c<strong>Maximum No. of Accounts\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0field you can set the limit for the number of accounts that should be setup on this server. Later, you can modify this limit as per your requirement.<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Server Status Address<\/strong>\u00a0section, enter the\u00a0<strong>Status<\/strong>\u00a0directory location. In general, it is in the install directory. So if you install it to\u00a0<strong>public_html<\/strong>\u00a0directory using Softaculous then\u00a0<strong>\u201cStatus\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0directory will be\u00a0<strong>domainname.com\/status<\/strong>. If you install it to a directory, i.e.\u00a0<strong>\/public_html\/whmcs<\/strong>\u00a0then it would be at\u00a0<strong>www.domainaname.com\/whmcs\/status.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Enable\/Disable<\/strong>\u00a0field, if you wish to disable this server then check on\u00a0<strong>Tick to disable this server<\/strong>\u00a0or keep it unchecked to enable it. Once ticked, no account can be setup on this server through WHMCS.<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Nameservers<\/strong>\u00a0section, enter the\u00a0<strong>nameservers<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>IP addresses<\/strong>. These IP addresses are your nameserver IP addresses.<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Sever Details<\/strong>\u00a0section, in\u00a0<strong>Module<\/strong>\u00a0field select the option\u00a0<strong>cPanel<\/strong>\u00a0from drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the username and password in the respective fields. This username should be\u00a0<strong>root or your reseller username<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Password\u00a0<\/strong>must be the one that is assigned to the particular\u00a0<strong>username<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you use the\u00a0<strong>Username and Password,\u00a0<\/strong>make sure that the\u00a0<strong>API Token field<\/strong>\u00a0is left blank. If you prefer to use the API token then you will need to create a new API token. For this, log in to\u00a0<strong>WHM\u00a0<\/strong>and on the left hand side in the search box search for\u00a0<strong>Manage API tokens\u00a0<\/strong>and click on it.<\/li>\n<li>Click on\u00a0<strong>Generate Token<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Name<\/strong> section, enter the name as per your choice. This name is just for your reference.\\<\/li>\n<li>Keep all the settings default for the sections\u00a0<strong>Should the API Token Expire?<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Privileges<\/strong>\u00a0respectively and click on\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Now, you will see a message including the token. Copy this token as you will require it to enter in the API token field in\u00a0<strong>Server Details<\/strong>\u00a0section of\u00a0<strong>WHMCS<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Here I am leaving Password field as blank because I am using API token.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the<strong>\u00a0API token\u00a0<\/strong>which you have copied from<strong>\u00a0WHM<\/strong>\u00a0and click on\u00a0<strong>Test Connection<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In case you are using SSL then it is recommended to check this option. (<strong>Tick to use SSL mode for connections).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In case, you are using a custom port, tick the option\u00a0<strong>Override with Custom Port<\/strong>\u00a0and enter the port number or else this will\u00a0<strong>read 2086 for standard, 2087 for SSL.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If, you as well as your team members want to have complete access to WHMCS then you can select\u00a0<strong>Unrestricted<\/strong>\u00a0option in\u00a0<strong>SSO Access Control.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Now, click on\u00a0<strong>Save Changes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thus in this way, you can add a new server in WHMCS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Using the admin panel you can add servers in WHMCS . it&#8217;ll facilitate to add the new accounts and track in WHMCS.
