The bellow tutorial will explains that the MySQL\u00ae 8 is compatible with cPanel & WHM version 88. Throughout installation, the default version is MySQL\u00ae 5.7. This information can facilitate in installing new cPanel & WHM that uses MySQL\u00ae 8.<\/p>\n

1. Before installing, cPanel and WHM will need to know that you want MySQL\u00ae 8.\u00a0You will need to create a directory in the\u00a0\/root\/ folder\u00a0<\/strong>named cPanel profile.<\/p>\n

2. Make a directory using this command in SSH:<\/p>\n

mkdir \/root\/cpanel_profile<\/strong><\/p>\n

3. A file named\u00a0cpanel.config\u00a0<\/strong>will need to exist within\u00a0\/root\/cpanel_profile<\/strong>\u00a0that specifies the custom MySQL\u00ae version.<\/p>\n

4. The full path to this file will be:<\/p>\n

\/root\/cpanel_profile\/cpanel.config<\/strong><\/p>\n

5. Add the following line to the file to configure the\u00a0cPanel & WHM installation<\/strong>\u00a0to use the specified MySQL\u00ae version:<\/p>\n

mysql-version=8.0<\/strong><\/p>\n

6. You can quickly create this file and add the required line using this command:<\/p>\n

echo \u201cmysql-version=8.0\u2033 > \/root\/cpanel_profile\/cpanel.config<\/strong><\/p>\n

7. Once this is complete, you can run the\u00a0cPanel installation<\/strong>\u00a0with the following command:<\/p>\n

cd \/home && curl -o latest -L https:\/\/securedownloads.cpanel.net\/latest && sh latest<\/strong><\/p>\n
