This article will show you how to change the dedicated server<\/a> hostname on CentOS. There are two ways through which you can be able to change server hostname.<\/p>\n

The first process by which you can change the server hostname is by using the \u201cHostname command<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Enter the below command into the console:<\/p>\n

hostname my.server.com<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

By using the above command, the server hostname will gets changed automatically.<\/p>\n

OR<\/p>\n

you have to change the server hostname using the \u201cEditing network file<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Into the console enter the command as follow:<\/p>\n

vi \/etc\/sysconfig\/network<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

After entering the command you will see something like this:<\/p>\n

NETWORKING=\u201dyes\u201d
\nGATEWAY=\u201d192.0.2.2\u2033
\nHOSTNAME=\u201dsome.servername.com\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
