There\u2019s a handful ways to reference the Joomla template positions by viewing them layered on the template design. But its easier to look at the Joomla template positions where setting up the web site and assigning modules to the positions.<\/p>\n

Method 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

add\u00a0?tp=1<\/strong>\u00a0to the url.<\/p>\n

eg:\u00a0http:\/\/www.joomla.org\/?tp=1<\/a><\/p>\n

This opens the preview in one browser tab while the regular view is in the other tab.<\/p>\n

Method 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Joomla Administrator go to:<\/p>\n

Extensions > Template Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now click on the template name. This opens the\u00a0Template [edit]<\/strong>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n

Click on the \u201cPreview<\/strong>\u201d button present in the top right.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong>\u00a0In some cases this preview will \u201cbreak\u201d the template design. Don\u2019t worry, this only happens because of the added divs showing the template positions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
