This tutorial will explain how to block an IP addresses and domain names using the cPanel IP Blocker tool.<\/p>\n

Blocking an IP address or domain name can improve website security as it prevent hacking and DDoS attacks. It can also block other unwanted visitors.<\/p>\n

Follow these steps, To block an IP address or domain name :<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. First, make sure you know the IP address or the domain name that you wish to block.<\/p>\n

2. Log in to\u00a0cPanel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. Scroll to the\u00a0Security<\/strong>\u00a0section and click\u00a0IP Blocker<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

4. In the IP Blocker dashboard, type the IP address or domain name in the\u00a0Add an IP or Range<\/strong>\u00a0field.<\/p>\n

You can also enter an IP range to block a range of IP addresses. Take a look at the bottom of page for the correct format.<\/p>\n

5. Check you have entered the IP address or domain name correctly and then click the\u00a0Add<\/strong>\u00a0button. You will then see the following notification:<\/p>\n

Here are the correct formats to use with IP Blocker:<\/p>\n

Single IP Address \u2013 in single IP address to block an IP address, the standard IP format of four sets of numbers is used, each is separated by a dot. For example, 193.166.0.2<\/p>\n

Range \u2013 In range of IP addresses you can block IP addresses by listing the first and last of the range you wish to block and separate them with a hyphen\/dash. For example, 193.166.0.2-193.166.0.50<\/p>\n

Implied Range \u2013 In Implied Range, there is a shorthand way to input a range. For example: 193.166.0.2-50<\/p>\n

Implied IP address \u2013In Implied IP address a truncated version of an IP address to bulk block all IP addresses is used, that follow the last used dot. For example, inputting 193. will block all IP addresses starting with 193. Similarly, inputting 193.166. will block all IP addresses beginning with 193.166.<\/p>\n
