{"id":1202,"date":"2021-08-05T08:49:19","date_gmt":"2021-08-05T08:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ownwebservers.com\/kb\/?p=1202"},"modified":"2021-08-05T08:49:19","modified_gmt":"2021-08-05T08:49:19","slug":"creating-an-agent-in-r1softs-cdp-3-0-enterprise-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ownwebservers.com\/kb\/creating-an-agent-in-r1softs-cdp-3-0-enterprise-edition\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating an Agent in R1Soft\u2019s CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following are the steps you wish to follow to create an agent in your R1Soft\u2019s CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition.<\/p>\n<p>Step 1: Open your web browser and connect with the CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition and log in using your login credentials.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Click on the \u201cAgents\u201d button shown within the Main Menu placed under the \u2018Dashboard\u2019 within the left pane of the page.<\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Then, click on \u201cCreate New Agent\u201d shown within the Agents menu located within the top left pane.<\/p>\n<p>Step 4: Once you click on \u201cCreate New Agent\u201d a new popup window can open permitting you to set the following things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Description<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Enter a description for the agent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Host Name<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Enter a host name or IP address of the agent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Port Number<\/strong> \u2013 Define a port in order to connect to the agent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Step 5: For this specific agent, you&#8217;ll be able to set the Group\u2019s special permissions. However, the groups\u2019 permissions will only be modified when:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adding an Agent<\/li>\n<li>Editing an Agent<\/li>\n<li>Adding a Group<\/li>\n<li>Editing a Group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Step 6: choose a group of your alternative and define the special permissions for it. After you choose a group you&#8217;ll see many boxes within the \u201cGroups\u201d:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full Control \u2013 gives you the ability to control everything mentioned below.<\/li>\n<li>Editing agent\u2019s settings<\/li>\n<li>Browsing agent\u2019s recovery points<\/li>\n<li>Manipulating disk safes for agent<\/li>\n<li>Editing agent\u2019s users<\/li>\n<li>Manipulating policies for agent<\/li>\n<li>Viewing agent\u2019s task in the task history console<\/li>\n<li>Restoring files from agent\u2019s recovery points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you wish to remove a group from the agent properties window, simply click on the \u201cX\u201d icon shown within the red color.<\/p>\n<p>Step 7: Same manner as \u201cGroups\u201d, you&#8217;ll be able to set special permissions for the \u201cUsers\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Step 8: Once you are done with all the settings, click on the \u201cCreate\u201d button at bottom of the window.<\/p>\n<p>Step 9: After a moment you will see a notification window showing \u201cSuccessfully created agent\u201d message.
